It’s wrong for Shincheonji to do this to recruit people.
“The end doesn’t justify the means”
: there is no justification for unethical behaviour. But what is unethical?
Ethical (adj.): relating to moral principles or the branch of knowledge dealing with these.
Moral (adj.): concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character.
Example: You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs. Today, eggs are mass harvested from prison-farms where chickens are enslaved. This is wrong.
Example: Flushing your toilet → wrong because it contaminates the oceans with feces
Example: I have overheard a mother say – right after slapping a child – “don’t hit your brother.” This is wrong.
Example: Even if it meant saving all the people in the concentration camps, it would be wrong to kill Hitler because it is wrong to kill a human being.
Example: It is wrong to take away children from their birth parents and put them under better care, although their parents mistreat, starve, abuse, and neglect them. It is wrong to separate parents from their children.
Example: It was wrong for God to sacrifice the lives of others (the prophets, the disciples, and His son, Jesus) for others.
Do you agree with these statements or disagree? Do you think they are logical or invalid in terms of their reasoning? What is the standard of what is wrong or right?
